Torrid Productions is proud to present HEROFEST taking place at Jack London Square's premiere deco club, CLUB ANTON on Saturday, May 9, 2009. This networking event will feature Action Short Films by digital filmmakers from East Bay Area . The purpose of this event is to help build a thriving filmmaking community in the city of Oakland, CA.

About the organizer: Torrid Productions, headed by Oakland native, DESCIPLE, is the host two film festivals in the city of Berkeley in addition to the television show, HorrorTV, broadcasted on BETV CH28. After helming 3 Bay Area Fan Film Festivals during San Francisco's Wondercon (Comic Book Convention), DESCIPLE is launching HEROFEST specifically to boost activity events for action directors of Oakland, CA. It is our intention to hopefully make Herofest an annual event for filmmaking community of Oakland.

About the event: Herofest kicks off with a Press Conference Q&A with the filmmakers starting at 5PM, followed by the 1hr & 45 min (approx) festival screening. The night will turn into a club atmosphere when the 9PM Afterparty launches featuring a live performance by R&B / Cover band, FARENHYTE 5150.
